New Delhi, June 21: Day began with the Holy Mass Celebrated by former IYCS Chaplain Rev. Fr. Mike Deeb. In his homily he stressed that YCS creates hope in the young hearts and minds. Let us not be dismayed or discouraged by the wiles of the World. After the mass we had group discussions to propose priorities that are the main focus of YCS in the next four years. Wonderful proposals swept the floor starting from poverty to education from discrimination to safety of women from removing corruptions to handling conflicts at home and political prisoners. Every aspect affecting the world at large and students specially were considered.

(1)    human dignity for all

1) Discrimination and violence against women,   2) children who are out of school
3) handicapped,   4) immigrants,   5) political prisoners,  6) low castes

(2)    Economic crises
1    poverty
2    unemployment
3    education
4    slums

(3)    Environmental crisis
1  climate change
2   deforestation
3  Industrialisation

(4)    Democrasy and good governance
1 Civil war
2 corruption

But many of the delegates suggested faith crisis to be mentioned as another focus area. Then the delegates had another activity of writing.

In the next session delegates had a press conference with the hosts`Ms. Lucille and Mr. Gerard. Representatives from each group gave the solutions to their problems that what can be done as a student to eradicate the problems.  The conference was ended by the great saying from the representative of environmental crisis “The cold doesn’t destroy the world, the communism doesn’t destroy the world, but destruction of the nature will.”
