Program began 28th April 2011 Thursday, 25 young students of Karnataka and 20 young students of Goa and 10 animators were the part of the Inter Regional Leadership Seminar. Rev. Fr Franklin did the animation after which Sr. Margaret gave useful information about the YCS/YSM movement. At 7PM Holy mass offered by Fr. Franklin.

On 29th April 2011 Friday, at 9 AM official inauguration took place. Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza the Karnataka Regional YCS/YSM director was the president of the program. Mrs. Geeta the Assistant Directress of ODP was the chief guest, Rev. Fr. J. Texera, the director of the Catholic Centre, Sr. Margaret, Karnataka Regional Lady YCS/YSM Animator, Sr. Lourdes, Goa YCS/YSM animator were the other dignitaries on the Dias. Rev. Fr. Christopher Crasta, YCS/YSM Director of the Mysore Diocese welcomed the dignitaries. Fr. Franklin in his presidential address made known the importance of the Inter-Regional Leadership Seminar. He stressed that we need value based leaders today. We have to prepare young students with right motivation. Mrs. Geeta stressed that Young students need to be oriented towards creating a better leadership in today’s scenario. Hence she invited the young students to learn from one another and make best use of the seminar.
Rev. Fr. J. Texera insisted what young students study in class room should be put in reality. Otherwise we become only educated fools.

After which at 11 AM Rev. Fr. Christopher Crasta took a session on Motivational Leadership, at 3 PM Fr. Franklin D’Souza, spoke on Spirituality of YCS/YSM Movement. Six groups were made Sr. Margaret Conducted work shop, as well as evaluation of the day. At 7PM mass was offered by Fr Franklin. At 9PM Cultural presentation was given by various groups.

30thApril 2011 (Saturday) at 9AM Mr. Francis & Shankar, Environmental Engineer, from ODP, gave a session on  Environmental Degradation, Ecological Crisis & Climate change, at 11 AM Mr. Benjamin who spoke on  Child Rights & Right to Education, at 2 PM Sr. Margaret  took the session on Leadership Dynamics. After the tea break there was pilgrim walk to the St. Philomena’s Church. At 7PM Fr. Edward Saldanha, offered the Holy Mass. Day came to an end with the organized recreation.   

01st May 2011 (Sunday), Day began with the Holy Mass offered by Fr. J. Texera at 7AM. At 9AM Rev. Fr. Leslie Moras, Principal of St. Philomena’s College took a session on Methodology/Review of Life in the light of the theme of YCS/YSM, At 12PM Group Work & Presentation by the various groups.

At 2.30PM Fr Franklin Spoke on Leadership Traits, he consolidated various sessions and asked the students to carry with them the spirit of the seminar. At 5PM Rev. Fr. Edward Saldanha, gave a session on “Mass media education in shaping the Young World its advantages as well as disadvantages”. Then evaluation as well as action plan was conducted by Sr. Margaret. At 9PM meaningful Camp Fire was organized by the local team of Mysore.

2nd May 2011 (Monday) Fr. Charles Menezes the National Chaplain of YCS/YSM offered mass and thanked God for the success of the seminar. At 9AM concluding ceremony began. Fr. Charles Menezes, Fr Olavo Caido, YCS/YSM Director of Goa, Fr. Franklin, Kumar Josline Savio vas the newly elected president of YCS Karnataka and Mr. Mohan the newly elected president of YSM Karnataka were on the Dias.  Fr. Franklin thanked all those who helped for the success of the program. He felicitated Rev. Fr. Christopher Crasta for his hard work and whole hearted support for the program. Fr Franklin also thanked Sr. Margarette for her services to the Region. The newly elected presidents felicitated her with shawl and memento. He thanked Fr. Olavo and his team for their support. He also told young people as they go back they should motivate other young people in their schools as well as parishes.
Fr. Olavo Caido also thanked every one. He told that such program will help our young people to enrich them to take up leadership.Two boys and two girls shared their experiences. They appreciated Cultural exchange as well as learning and sharing with one another. They also appreciated the sessions which gave them the real courage to face and accept the situation, also these sessions made them courageous.

Fr Charles Menezes thanked the regions both Karnataka and Goa for making this seminar a grand success. He also thanked animators. He invited young people to make use of this YCS/YSM movement. He gave the basic information about the World Council will take place in Delhi from June n15th to 29th 2011. He also stressed that modern young students seriously think about the issues like Corruption, environmental change, food crisis, global warming and climate change. One can’t be ignorant of these burning issues.

Ms. Leena was the M.C of the ceremony. Kumar Shylon thanked the dignitaries.
