New Delhi, March 24, 2025: St. John the Baptist Church, Aya Nagar, under the Archdiocese of Delhi, hosted an orientation programme and elections for the new office bearers of its Young Catholic Students – Young Students’ Movement (YCS-YSM) Unit on March 23, 2025. The event, attended by 53 students, aimed to familiarise them with the structure, rules, and regulations of the movement while selecting new leaders for the unit.

The programme was presided over by Fr. Maria, the Diocesan Youth Director (DYD) of the Archdiocese of Delhi and the Regional Youth Director (RYD) of the Northern Region. He delivered the opening address, emphasising the importance of student leadership in the movement.

Key members of the YCS Diocesan Team were present to facilitate the orientation, including Mahima Indwar, Vice President; Ishita Kujur, Secretary; Abhishek Tigga, Treasurer; Godwin Toppo, Media Secretary; and Sakshi Toppo, Regional Representative & NEXCO Member. Each team member contributed to explaining different aspects of YCS-YSM, helping students to better understand the movement

Following the orientation, the election process commenced under the guidance of Fr. Maria, the YCS Diocesan Team, and the parish youth. After a structured voting process, the following students were elected as the new office bearers of the YCS-YSM Unit of St. John the Baptist Church, Aya Nagar:

Joint Secretary: Arpit
Treasurer: Sheetal
Joint Treasurer: Abhishek
Media Secretary: Varsha

After the elections, Fr. Maria congratulated the newly elected office bearers and encouraged them to take their responsibilities seriously. He highlighted that their leadership would contribute to the movement’s growth and also serve as a valuable learning experience for them.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Fr. Gladius, Assistant Parish Priest of St. John the Baptist Church, Aya Nagar.

The programme proved to be a meaningful and insightful experience, strengthening the foundation of the YCS-YSM movement in the parish.
