YCS/YSM was introduced in the Archdiocese of Imphal on 10-12 April 2015. 77 catechists, youth animators and student leaders along with a few sisters and aspirants took part in it. On 10th they were introduced into the programme through a few group dynamics and biblical action songs by Mr Charles and Bertilla. Fr. Charles introduced the movement to them giving details about the history, aim, objectives and methodology of the movement. The day ended with evaluation and a cultural programme.
On 11th Fr. Franklin spoke on youth reality through ppt to the participants and made them realize how the media and things in the market rule our life. It needs to be challenged and made use of than we being used by the media.
Fr. Charles spoke on the movement and Cell meeting (ROL) and Cell life which helped the participants understand the methodology of the movement. He conducted a cell meeting and a few workshops for the participants to grasp the meaning of cell meeting. In the evening the participants shared their joy with each other through various cultural items.
On 12th Fr. Charles introduced them the topic of Animation and clarified the role of animators in the movement. He also instructed them the spirituality of the movement. Fr. Franklin clarified the process of animation through the passage of Emmaus story. Then Fr. Charles led them to the workshop to prepare lesson plans on the biblical passages to be used for Sunday school. Each group prepared two lesson plans with objectives and questions pertaining to the review of life which will be circulated to all the YCS units once the movement starts in the archdiocese.
Archbishop visited the participants and in his concluding address appreciated the effort put in by Fr. Athew and all the participants. He asked them to start this movement immediately in all the schools and parishes so that they may cater to the faith formation of the teenagers and student community. Fr. Mathew put forth the plan of action as how and when this movement will be introduced all over the archdiocese and resource persons were identified for the 6 zones to do it. With evaluation and cultural programme the training came to an end. Thanks to Mr. Charles, Mr. Bosco, Mr. James Bond and all the local hosts for making it a success.
