Mangalore, May 14: The 15th National YCS/YSM Council was started on May 14th 2010 with the inaugural Mass offered by his Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore. At 5PM. He prayed for the success of the council.
At 6 PM inaugural ceremony held at open stage Pastoral Centre, Bajjodi. Bishop was the President of the program. Mr. J.R.Lobo was the chief guest. Fr. Vincent National Chaplain of YCS/YSM, Ms. Suzane Topno National YCS/YSM President, Mr. Darrel Regional YCS/YSM president, Mr. Jeevan Mangalore diocesan YCS/YSM president, Fr Franklin Regional Chaplain of Karnataka YCS/YSM, Fr Ronald Mangalore diocese YCS/YSM Chaplain, were present on the dais.
In his speech the chief guest Mr. J.R.Lobo stressed the need to discuss about Environment. He vividly explained the world’s climate crisis. How the Baali, Kopen Hegen Councils failed. He invited young students to take up this task so that they can have a better world. With examples he convinced the audience the need to take up this challenge seriously.
Fr Vincent Montero in his speech invited the young students to take up the challenge of changing oneself and take this topic seriously for discussion.
In his presidential address His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza invited young students to save the mother earth.
Fr. Franklin the Regional Chaplain thanked the dignitaries.
From the 9 regions 150 young students from all over India are present.
