The first day of the III National Team of Animators and Executive Committee Meeting held at ‘Poornodaya Institute’, Patel Nagar, Bhopal on 17th May. The members participated are as follows:

Sharon, Ebin from TN; Melwyn Roshan and Fr. Mari Joseph from Karnataka; Fr. Bala from AP; Arman, Amiya and Fr. Ranjith Minj from Odisha; Anette Ling, Kevin and Sr. Gouri Sardar SA representing West Bengal; Jimmy from North East; Ashley and Fr. Chetan from Northern region; Eliza from Nagpur and Prakrithi, Merwyn and Fr. Alex from MP along with Leo Joseph and Fr. Charles Menezes. The meeting began at 10:00 am in the morning with a song and a reading from the Gospel of St. John- “the vine and its branches” followed by a short prayer by Roshan. Mr. Jimmy, the National Convener welcomed all to the NTA/ EXCO meeting. Fr. Charles gave a special welcome to the new EXCOS of MP and West Bengal and mentioned the EXCOS who had given prior excuse for their absence. Miss. Sharon, National Secretary read the detailed report of the previous NTA/ EXCO meeting at Hyderabad. Doubts were clarified and Roshan passed the report to which Ebin from TN seconded it. Fr. Charles shared his experience participating in the Chaplains and Animators training program held at Indore. He explained the system of formation one receive through the program and has already planned to have the next NTA/ EXCO meeting and NSLTP Hindi in the month of October 2014. The next spiritual program at USM (Universal Solidarity Movement) will be held in October 27- Nov 3, 2014 where interested members and animators are welcome. Regional reports based on the preparation for the convention was shared by the respected regions. The NEXCO members were asked to concentrate more in their studies as most of the EXCOS have poor academic score. 

Fr. Charles encouraged the members to study well and make the movement proud. NEXCO members exchanged a few words about the difficulties in promoting the movement in their respective regions and dioceses due to various reasons. RYDs too helped with their experience in overcoming these barriers and to work together as one family. This healthy talk helped the new EXCOS to go on with the positive spirit. Fr. Charles thanked Fr Chetan, the RYD of Northern region for all his selfless aid in designing all that is required for the convention and also for the YCS YSM Resource book. After a few minutes break, we all gathered in the chapel for the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Chetan. “No team, no dream” was the message of the sermon.

 

 

 

 

 


At 2:00 pm sharp, after the lunch, we came back again to cross check time table, committees, theme and the objectives of the Convention. The roles are divided equally and the Master of Ceremony (MC) on each day was given to the EXCOS.  RYDs themselves volunteered to be the in charge every day. The next National Council will be held in the year 2016 to which MG region conveyed their interest in organising it but has to confirm it with the Archbishop and the Regional Director. Northern region too was interested in hosting it and other regions felt happy about the suggestion. The new restructured National Logo was proposed to the members and it will be ratified during the Convention. NTA/ EXCO members were informed about the new YCS YSM Alumni Association as well as the new Face book and Twitter name and were asked to promote it to reach out to more students.

The next NTA/ EXCO meeting will be held at Indore from 22nd to 24th November 2014. It will be confirmed later through correspondence. Finally the III NTA/ EXCO meeting came to an end with the YCS YSM Anthem and Clap.
