The NTA EXCO meeting held at Jyothirmai Centre, Hyderabad on 11th & 12th January 2014. Being the first National meet of the calendar year 2014, executive committee members and RYDs from nine regions participated in it. Goa, West Bengal and Orissa failed to participate due to certain unavoidable reasons. Mr. Jimmy Pdang, the National Convener presided the whole meeting. The meeting began with a short prayer and the National Convener welcomed all. The new excos introduced themselves. The main rationale of the meeting was to discuss on the forthcoming programs that includes: National Animators training programs with USM, The First YCS YSM National Convention, National Animators Training Program (NATP) with the collaboration of IYCS- Asia (CAFÉ), Asian Youth Day- South Korea and the XVII National Council 2016. The interest towards the movement made easy for the RYDs and the EXCOS to make decisions for the betterment of the movement and the students.
Regional reports were read and evaluated to the fullest by all and questions were raised to understand better. The National report was presented by Miss Sharon, the National Secretary and Fr. Charles shared his 6 months report as a National Chaplain and his visits. We had a small birthday party of Miss Richa from MP and Leo Joseph from the National Office. We had the Eucharistic celebration in the evening. Soon after the dinner, RYDs and EXCOS sat separately and shared faith experiences.
The Day 2 began with the holy mass. Mr. James Sylvester, the former YCS YSM member enlightened us on the Spirituality of YCS. The interactive session helped us the understanding of God in our daily life. Moving on to the agenda, after an hour discussion, the NTA/ EXCO members gave a green signal in organizing the 1st YCS YSM National Convention at Bhopal in the month of May. (More details will be given soon). Collaborating NATP along with the CAFÉ was also accepted and it’ll be finalized after consulting the Asian Office. We also discussed on the role of the former excos and members, the advocacy of the movement, our role in the ICYM, CBCI, and CCBI, promotion of websites, and social networking sites, subscription of Search- our National newsletter, forming an alumni for the Ex YCS members etc. After enough informations regarding the Asian program and the National Council, it will be confirmed in the next NTA EXCO meet on 17th May 2014. Fr. Charles urged the members to give their best for the growth of the movement particularly for the first National Convention.
Jimmy and Sharon, our National President and Secretary respectively thanked Fr. Charles for his guidance and all for their support and prayers on behalf of the excos, they promised to work hard and make the movement reach many more students. With the song, “Bind us together”, we happily concluded the NTA/ EXCO meet.
