The Young Christian Students/ Young Students Movement of the Chennai diocese had an one day exposure visit on the theme ‘Human Rights’ on 01.09.2012, where around 75 students and 20 animators participated in it.
The day began with the visit of the old age people where the students had an awareness of what they were and why they end up here. The students had a pleasant experience of meeting them and interacting with them .The Inauguration was presided over by Rev.Fr.Clement Bala , Diocesan Chaplain-YCS/YSM along with Mr. Leo Joseph from YCS/YSM India, the Resource Person of the day and Mr. Dominic Savio , the New full timer of Archdiocesan YCS/YSM. Felicitations were made and Fr. Clement was invited to speak about the day’s theme. He in his speech stressed upon the importance of Human Rights and why it is necessary that everyone is aware of his rights. He welcomed Mr. Dominic Savio into the family of YCS/YSM .The vote of thanks was given by Mr.Kamal.
The 1st Session was begun with a small game making the students understand the importance of Human Rights. Then with what they have learnt the students were made to speak about the fundamental rights of a citizen. There were serious discussions among the students and there was much participation among the students. Then the students broke out for lunch.
The students returned and action songs were thought to make the group alive. Then Mr. Leo Joseph summed up the discussions by giving an detail aspect of the rights which every human should be able to make use of.
The concluding program began around 3.00pm .Rev. Sr. Superior the head of the community was invited as the chief guest .Felicitations were made and Rev. Sr. Superior shared a few words to understand the current situation of the elder generation and how we as students are going to make a change being in a wonderful movement.
