A training Program was conducted by the Diocesan YCS/YSM Office for the Students from the Parishes at Avadi. There were around 50students from over 5 new parishes. The day began with the Inaugural Welcome by Mr. Kamal Francis, Diocesan Full timer of the Movement who spoke about the importance of this training by sharing his experiences of attending these trainings and the impact the Movement makes in one’s life.
Mr. Leo Joseph from YCS/YSM India was invited to officiate as the resource person for this training. The 1st Session began with group dynamics by playing the clock game which the students introduced themselves to their friends. Then was the Situation Analysis was brought out by which the students understood the importance of decision making, how good one can decide upon a situation through which the fundamental values which every YCS/YSM’er need to proclaim and the importance of these values in one’s life was explained.
A Basic Introduction of what is YCS/YSM was given to the students touching upon the Vision and the History of the Movement. Then the Methodology of the Movement was explained to the students concluding the importance of the Methodology in one’s life for oneself and for the betterment of others. The students had broken out for lunch. In the Afternoon session, Action songs were taught by Ms. Laranzia. Then she shared up her experiences and then Mr. Abraham a new helper to YCSYSM Chennai was invited to give tips on healthy livelihood and our role in helping others.
The concluding program began around 3.00pm. Rev. Fr. Santhiagu , the Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Shrine, Avadi was invited as the Chief Guest who spoke about the importance of being a part of this wonderful movement quoting few individuals who are doing good for the society. Then was the final conclusion given by Mr. Leo Joseph who spoke about the importance of Building a new society and concludes with the ultimate words ‘Ask not what the country has done for you, but ask what you have done for the country’, Thus thanking everyone who attended this training.
