Young Catholic Students (YCS) movement of Moodubelle unit successfully conducted a highly informative session titled “Cracking the Nursing Entrance Exam: Strategies for Success” on March 30, 2025, at 8:45 AM. The event, tailored to equip YCS members with essential knowledge and strategies for excelling in nursing entrance examinations, featured Ms. Laveena Barboza, a distinguished faculty member from Manipal College of Nursing, as the key resource person.

The session was graced by the presence of Fr. Rikson Monteiro, Assistant Director of YCS, along with esteemed YCS Animators Dr. Judith A. Noronha, Ms. Nikitha Rebello, and Youth coordinator Mr. Valerian Noronha, highlighting the organization’s commitment to the academic and professional development of its members.

Ms. Barboza delivered a comprehensive presentation covering vital aspects of nursing entrance exams, including:
* Understanding the Manipal Entrance Test (MET): Detailed insights into the exam structure and effective preparation strategies.
* Syllabus-Based Study and Mock Tests: Emphasizing the importance of rigorous preparation through syllabus adherence and practice tests.
* Comprehensive Overview of Other Nursing Entrance Exams: Including the CET for Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
* Aptitude Test Strategies: Practical sessions involving sample questions to enhance analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

 

 

The session particularly focused on encouraging first-year PUC students to maintain focus and establish clear academic goals, crucial for their future success. Additionally, Ms. Barboza provided valuable information on the facilities and scholarship opportunities available at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).

The Interactive nature of the session fostered active participation from the students, who engaged in insightful discussions and sought clarification on various aspects of the examination process.

Rishal Mascarenhas skillfully compered the program, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow. The event concluded with a heartfelt memento presentation to Ms. Barboza in appreciation of her valuable contribution, followed by the YCS Anthem, symbolizing the unity and spirit of the organization.
