The first training took place at Sevalaya at Dharwar on 21st Feb. 2011 in the morning. Fr. Charles, the National Chaplain of YCS/YSM was the resource person. 7 animators from 3 schools were present. Fr. Roshan, the Jt. Secretary of youth commission of Belgaum Diocese and the YCS/YSM incharge welcomed all. It was of 2 hours duration. With action songs and a detailed description of the movement was given.
The second training took place at Hubli in the afternoon of 21st Feb. 18 animators from 6 schools took part in it. All opined that it would be a good beginning because the teenagers go through a tough time in the present media and peer pressured society.
The third training program took place on 22nd Feb. at Nazareth home, at the cathedral, Bishop’s house, Belgaum. 15 animators from 6 schools took part in it. All decided to revive the movement from June onwards.
We could see the interest and enthusiasm among the animators to learn more about it and put into practice for the benefit of the student community. The better part of it was the participation of some of the priests and sisters from the Diocese.
Fr. Charles also had a dialogue with the Bishop of Belgaum, Rt. Rev. Peter Machado who was of all interest in this movement to see a better youth force in the days to come. Though hectic, it was a worthy exercise, which would revive the movement into its old glory.
