Animator's Training - 2011 held at St Kevins, Chennai

ARCHDIOCESAN YOUNG CHRISTIAN STUDENTS/YOUNG STUDENTS MOVEMENT
YCS/YSM ANIMATORS TRAINING PROGRAMME

Chennai, Aug. 1: An Animator’s Training program was organized in the Diocese of Chennai- Mylapore, Tamilnadu on 31st July 2011 at St. Kevin’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School. There were around 50 animators who attended and benefited through the program. Fr. Clement, the DYD welcomed Rev. Fr. Charles Menezez, the National Chaplain of YCS/YSM – the resource person of the day and all the others.

Mr. Deepak Raj broke the ice through an action song. Fr. Charles began his session with some basic reflection of ‘who an animator is?’, and ‘the role of an animator’. He emphasized the Importance of an animator in YSM group meeting. He made them understand through many present facts and issues. He then gave a clear sketch about the “Methodology of YCS/YSM” (ROL) i.e.., Awareness, Reflection, Action and Evaluation. He explains to them that where and in what context an animator comes into role in the methodology. The animators had various group discussions, which made them to use the methodology, not only within the YCS/ YSM circle, but also in their lives.

Mr. Leo Joseph, from YCS/YSM- India, succeeded the session from Fr. Charles to make it the fullest. Using the methodology, a model cell meeting, was shown in front of the animators, by the Executive committee of students to erase the prevailing doubts. He explained them the ‘things to do & not to do’ during the cell meeting. The animators began to involve more as they realized that they are the chosen potters to mould the clay (the students).  The interest made them to

After discussing upon the future programs and suggestions for the betterment of YCS/ YSM, Ms. Jean the animator of St. Ursulas proposed the vote of thanks, thanking the resource persons; the Principal and the animators of the hosting school- St. Kevin’s. Remembering Fr. Clement, the DYD and Br. Arun the diocesan coordinator for organizing this wonderful program, Special thanks go to Mr. Kamal, the diocesan president of YCS YSM and his team for their presence and support. Thus the curtains were brought down by singing the YCS/YSM Anthem.
