Oct.2, Shillong: The North East and West Bengal Inter Regional Student Leadership Training Programme started at Pastoral Centre, Shillong on 1st Oct 2011. 60 Students and 10 animators from allover North East and Kolkata took part in it. The programme started with the Holy Mass offered by Most Rev. John Moolachara, Coadjutor Bishop of Guahati. In the Mass he cheered up the students to take good part in the programme. He also explained how to do it by citing the example of St. Theresa of Child Jesus who did the things in the small way for the glory of God. He urged the participants to do whatever we do to do it nicely, with free will and for God's glory.
In the inauguration programme the Bishop, Fr. Charles Menezes, Sr. Bhanumati, Fr. Mark Lakra and Fr. Mauri lighted the lamp. Sr. Bhanumati welcomed the guests of honour and the DEXCO welcomed them with YCS Shawll and mementos. In the inaugural message Bishop gave a very good information about how students can make a change for the bettermenmt of the enviornment citing examples from Bible, Teachings of the Church and from the Society.
Fr. Mark and Fr. Charles wished well to the participants.
Fr. Mauri urged the North eastern students to fall back to the traditions and be persons loving and belonging to the nature.
Students from Malki performed a prayer dance and sung the welcome song and Nongstoin group gave a song about environment in Khasi language, Jennifer the Exco offered vote of thanks.
