NATIONAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

Venue: Inspiration Joypur Kharghuli, Guwahati, Assam.
Day 3 : 19-Dec-2017
At 6:15am we started the day with the inter-religious prayer by group 5. At 6:30am Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Johnson Parackal SDB. At present he is the formal regional youth director of northeast region under the banner of NERYC (northeast regional youth commission). He is the one who provided the accommodation. During his homily he reflected much on the theme called to believe, he asked us to believe in God and ourselves and to make others believe in themselves.
Soon after the mass he was facilitated by Phrangkupar Wajiri NEXCO from northeast region. At 7:30 am all departed for the breakfast. Followed by animation conducted by NEXCOs. At 8:45am session 1 took place on Self Awareness which was taken by Sr. Lusika Sangma. She helped us to understand the psychology of students through videos and also taught us some animation songs. Soon after the session students went for a short tea break.
After break NEXCOs conducted some animations. Then Fr. Chetan Machado National Chaplin took over. He took a session, session 2 on Media and Me. Where is explained about good and bad media, students influenced by media. He showed some advertisements and asked all the groups to prepare some advertisement, all the groups came up with creative advertisements. He also reflected upon the power of media at present he asked us to see and observe and to understand what that advertisement conveys and we departed for lunch at 12:30.
At 1:30pm we started with animation songs followed by a session which was taken by Sr. Christina Sangma DYD of Guwahati diocese who spoke about friendship, how a friend should be, what qualities we want in our friends, and she also conducted some activities where students needed to tell how their friends should be, she also showed a video on friendship and Sr. Bernadeth RYD of north east region proceeded with the session on who are we? She started with some activity where everyone was supposed to draw anything on a paper.
In next activity students were asked to draw a symbol which could symbolise their country. Students came up with different and creative drawings and they explained what does it mean? In the same way they were asked to draw something which symbolizes the world, all came up with some wonderful explanation. Sr. Bernadeth also gave them some questions on Education and asked all the groups to discuss in their groups. All the groups discussed and also presented their reports and then we went for tea break.
After the break some outdoor activities were conducted. Soon after that we went to practice for the cultural programme diocese wise and went for the supper. At 8:30pm we started the cultural night all the 11 diocese performed their traditional dances and songs which was graceful and mesmerising and we could learn about their traditions and cultures. Soon after the cultural night we had a quick evaluation by all the groups individually and showed the picture presentation and concluded the day with the night prayer.
