Shillong, July 26: Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes was appointed by the CBCI Youth commission in the month of May 2010 as National Chaplain for the YCS/YSM India. He took charge on 20th June 2010. Its national office is in CHENNAI.

Fr. Charles Menezes is a diocesan priest of Mangalore Diocese, hails from Belle parish of Udupi district, served the YCS movement in the diocese for 8 years. During his time this movement reached its zenith.

Ever since he started visiting the various regions of India and strengthening the YCS movement. He has already visited Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kolkota and North East region.

Recently On July 21st and 22nd he visited four units of Shillong Arch diocesan schools. Namely; St. Margaret School, Auxilium School, St. Francis Mawlai School and Little flower School.

On 23rd He addressed the National Council of ICYM at Shillong. He stressed the need to work together for the movement. He urged the Regional Youth Directors to co operate in this mission of building the young students.

Ms. Jennifer, Mr. Alex YCS National Executive Committee (EXCO) members, Ms. Geraldine, animator, Sr. Bhanumati the North Eastern YCS Regional Animator and Fr. Franklin D’Souza YCS/YSM Regional Chaplain of Karnataka accompanied the Chaplain.

Fr. Charles Menezes motivated the students by his dynamic talk. He stressed the need of YCS/YSM in our institutions which has a methodology of SEE (Awareness) - JUDGE (Reflection) - ACT (Action) - EVALUATE (Evaluation). This method is unique to this movement. He applauded the efforts of North East Region making this movement vibrant.

Fr. Franklin D’Souza motivated the young students and invited them to love beyond boarders as Jesus Christ as thought us.
