April 30: On 29th April the YCS gathering and fest was organized by Kolasib YCS Unit at St. Joseph the worker’s Parish Hall, Kolasib. All the parish people gathered to celebrate the YCS day there. Student members from St Lawrence parish unit, Vairengte also participated in the programme. The mass was offered to begin the celebration. The Parish Priest Fr. Joseph Lalbiakthanga offered the mass and wished the programme God’s blessings. Members took active part in the mass and made the people happy with their performance. After the mass, refreshments were served to all the people gathered at the St. Joseph the worker Parish Hall.

The programme began at 12 noon with the welcome by the Church leader and prayer led by YCS member. Ms. Rebecca Khiangte introduced the dignitaries and gave the keynote address. She explained the purpose of this programme and asked for the cooperation of all in organizing the movement in Aizawl Diocese with full vigor. Kolasib YCS sang a welcome song to welcome the dignitaries which was followed by various cultural programmes put up by Kolasib and Vairengte YCS unit. CTP (ICYM) Kolasib Branch and Sunday school children also gave a good performance. People and religious gathered to witness the programme.

Fr. Charles at his speech asked the student members to work unceasingly to make the society a lively one since we are born to live forever even after our bodily death. Never give up was the key word which would change the society for good. Sr. Sanihe and Sr. Regina also gave their inspiring messages. Nicholas the YCS President thanked the gathering and Fr. Joseph blessed the people before family meal which was offered to all. The dignitaries were honored with special gifts of Kolasib YCS Unit.
