Fr. Charles visited the North East from 1st to 10th Feb. for a training program for the Animators, DYDs and Student leaders.
On 2nd Feb. he took a session to the student leaders of north east on team building and then on YCS/YSM. A detailed study was made about the aim and objectives and the statutes of the movement. On 3rd Feb. a session was held for the DYDs of North East on team building. It was an interesting session, all actively took part in it. On 3rd evening the first REXCO election was held and the new office bearers were elected. Since it is the 25th year of the movement, the REXCO would play an important role in the coming years.
On 4th, 5th and 6th the training was held for the Animators. 25 animators from various states were present. It was a very important program since many were new animators. The movement was dealt in with great details. Mr. Edward Thma from Shillong, who was a former Natl Exco also took sessions on leadership and team building. It was all a good learning process for all of us.
Fr. Charles then visited the Diphu Diocese from 7th to 10th. He visited a school unit at Jirkinding on 8th which is very far from Diphu were the movement is very vibrant. This place has no electricity and basic amenities. It is a great sacrifice on the part of the fathers and sisters to animate this movement at that place.
On 9th he visited another school and all the students were introduced to the movement. YCS/YSM was elaborately dealt with and the elections of the office bearers were also held. All the students were of enthusiasm to learn more and put into practice what they have learnt. The teaching staff also was introduced to the movement and all resolved to partake in it in the interest of the students.
Fr. Saju the DYD of Diphu Diocese along with his team Sharmila and Sam and the Regional Chaplain Sr. Bhanumati were present throughout the program. They helped us with lots of action songs. We wish the North East all the best in the coming years.
