Leadership is a quality to be inculcated, possessed and lived. Leaders are not born but they are made. School is a place where these leaders are made and evolved. Integral education will enable a person to be a leader to one self and to others. What we do in our life does not matter but what we become is all that matters and is of utmost importance.
‘Yuvamithra’ the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Shimoga has been venturing into new avenues to help the student communities through a unique ‘School Cabinet Training Program’ to bring out the real leader in each individual and teaching them the value of being a leader at the service of the nation and society.
St. Charles English Medium School students went through this unique training program on 07.06.2014. There were around 800 students who went through the first phase of the program. The students at this stage were motivated and explained the qualities of a good leader through a session and power point presentation. The second phase followed the first stage, 109 student leaders for the academic year 2014-15 were initiated in to a deeper concepts of leadership which involved practical activities with analysis and evaluation. Leaders from each class were trained to be value based leaders. Rev. Fr. Ronald Veigas - the diocesan Youth Director and Ms Jovita - the former YCS/YSM leader were the trainers.
