Four decades ago I had heard of YMCA and also seen its various activities. This was basically the reason why I had willingly given my consent to my daughter, for joining a similar Movement called YCS/YSM. My initial fear of sending her alone to remote village camps and outstations was overcome by various reports and confidence she gave me after attending each camp. This was further strengthened after her father had visited Workers Center and witnessed a couple of times, the buzzing activities of DTS and others.
The general fear being removed, I could see her progressing in various fields such as public speaking, debating, making quick and healthy friendship, easy way of approaching people, tactful handling of crisis and above all making us proud parents by bringing home various ‘firsts’ to her credit. In short, I could see a positive change and growth in her, from a caterpillar to a butterfly. Yes she did make mistakes, small and big, but she was also quick to accept it and learn from them.
The knowledge she has gained at various State, National and International level through the Movement will definitely pave way for her to choose the best and a bright career in her life. God is really great, for he made us see our child reaching the peak so fast at a tender age. We are really thankful to the Movement and all those in it, who have been and who are, at the background for her reaching this position in the Movement and in Life.
