Dear Friends,

As a National EXCO I learnt many things from the Movement that built up my character. The Movement played an important role in my life. I am a student of science and it was a little difficult for me to attend meetings and programs. This meant my leaving three tuitions too. I’m from a Hindi medium school and my fluency in English is not good, moreover, I have the responsibility of my family as I am the eldest son and my father is posted to a different place.

I’m grateful to God for giving me an opportunity to serve the Movement for three years as a National EXCO. When I compare my problems, I feel they are nothing in comparison to what the less fortunate children are facing today.

I am also grateful to all my Co-EXCOs, Chaplains, Co-ordinators who cooperated with me and inspired me by sharing my problems. My character has developed and I have grown spiritually strong. Thanks to the YCS/YSM.

At this stage I remember the proverb of Vivekananda “If you really want to judge the character of a man, look not at his great performance. Every fool may become a hero at one time or another. Watch a man do his most common actions; those are indeed the things which will tell you the real character of a great man”.

So friends, let us give thanks to God for the joys and sorrows we encounter in our daily lives. Always remember, “God never gives us more burdens than we can handle.”
