18th May, 2014. The day finally came and we all were ready to organize it. On entering the Xavier’s School my reaction was like Scooby dog, and I yell – “Yikes, Scooby doobydoobydoooooo…!!”. Last year in Shillong during 16th National Council, a thought came across my mind - ‘what would have been the experience of those people who attended the 1st National Council?’ Time went on, days passed by, trying to look forward for the future. But ….. I never thought my destiny will bring me into this 1st National Convention. And “I am proud to be a part of the 1st” because 1st will always be remembered in future, as a history in YCS/YSM.
The student delegates have impressed me with their hidden talents during group discussions. Their interaction, mingling with others, learning & sharing their experiences; full of ENTHUSIASM. I tried my best to enthrall the delegates and they too responded cheerfully. The LOC’s did a great job as backbone by helping us in many ways and be enamored with the movement. Everyday @ evening the way we used to dance with LOC’s & different regions in cultural music, making new friends, learning different languages. The late night jams and gossips, watching movies and loitering with friends, doing creativity by self-indulgence – one of the best moments of my life. Meeting the ‘ICYM ‘NEXCOs for me was like “two countries joining hands for a common goal”. Our YCS NEXCO team is the best, and we formed a very deep bonding amongst us by working together. “I PRAY TO GOD, TO BIND US TOGETHER FOREVER AND EVER…”
Alas…!! For some its 21st and others 22nd, the day came to an end and this convention asserts beautiful memories in everyone’s life. It’s UNFORGETTABLE. I am missing you all friends a lot…..Bhopal, St. Xavier’s, Loc’s, est. BIG “Thank you” to Fr. Charlie, Leo Anna and the RYD’s for guiding us. LOVE YOU ALL..!!!!
