I joined the movement in the year 1999 when I was in Class VII from St. Mary’s School, Shillong. I was very inspired by my seniors their smartness, leadership and different activities undertaken by them. I think this led me to join the movement. It has given me a platform to learn, share, express my feelings and developed my personality.
My long term commitment to YCS has gained the recognition of both the Regional and National Office. I was privileged to be selected to represent YCS/YSM-India at both Asian and World Council of (IYCS). Our movement plays an important role besides our academics. During my interaction with my school students, I have always said that YCS will never give you a job but it will teach you to find one.
YCS was like an extended family to me. My only message to the students is that “Opportunities comes only once and we should never be afraid to try something new”. I thank all the Chaplains, Coordinators, Animators, friends in YCS and my parents who have always trusted me in my work and abilities. May YCS shine today and forever.
