“I know that you know, but you do not know that you really do not know-
Get to know yourself”..

No one knows himself better than the individual himself, but how truthful are you to yourself? Is your FB or Whatspp DP all what you are! Or are you worth more than it? The biggest liar is the one who lies to himself. Do you really think you are the individual you know? Think and then again think about what you have thought. Is it what you really thought, ask your conscience. The two great ‘movers’ of the human mind is the desire to do good and the fear of the evil. Desire is the key of motivation. As a youth we have to explore that, just by updating our status on FB or Whatsapp, it will not really enhance ourselves and exhibit our personality.

Today’s youth feel inferior to others and take themselves for granted as they deem that people force them to do so and deny coming out of their cocoons. But we need to b acquainted with Theodore Roosewelt’s quote that says, “This world will not be a good place for any of us to live until we make it a better place for all of us to live in.” we as adolescent have to apprehend that is we who will have to bring about a change if we demand for it. The Holy Scriptures says, “Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for He will judge you in the same way you judge other, and he will apply the same to you the same rules you apply others.” Be a friend and you will have a friend. Give and receive. Teach and you will learn. Listen carefully, seeking to truly understand and you will be understood. Be respectful and you will be respected. Life is like a mirror that reflects back to you, what you think, what you expect, that you fell, and what you desire. Thus, with an optimistic thinking we can help create platforms for us to enhance ourselves: our merits and demerits, our strengths and weaknesses, our sorrow and joys or the good and the bad within all of us. It is always not necessary to prove others what you are and what all you can do, sometimes it is more important to become conscious about who YOU are. Our personality is the framework of what we want, but is a mirror of how we think and behave.

Thoughts range between two extremes - Autistic and Realistic. Autistic thinking is determined primarily by our needs, wishes and feelings whereas Realistic is determined largely by the requirements of the objective situation. As taking examples of this century, the jumbled thoughts of most of the youths are the ideas guided by the desire of immediate wish fulfilment – with no concern for logic, morality, time sequence, casual connection or the demands of external reality. This thinking can allude to pleasure thinking where we are mostly attracted. While the thinking that directs us towards action or the solution of a problem, is productive and thus realistic. Sir Amit Abraham says, “The first step towards a successful life is Positive and realistic thinking.” Ofcourse there are situations in a youth’s life where he gets disheartened and so loose courage and hope from life, but he needs to keep in mind that difficulties and problems are a part and parcel of life. The more you run away from your problems, the more they tend to chase you. Our fear of failure or dread of someone who will say no to us makes keep ourselves surrounded by our protective people or environment. Hence we never explore the nature or the people outside our shell. But to this problem too, we have a solution. Dr. Kalam’s famous quote says, “If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L. means First Attempt In Learning and if you ever get ‘NO’ as an answer, always remember a N.O. means Next Opportunity.” Needless to say that sometimes all of us feel that these phrases are good to reach and not to practise, even I feel the same most of the times, but earnest ponder upon these phrases do give us a zeal to peep at life from a different aspect and heightens your hope. Neither we are saints nor philosophers; we are just a tiny but precious creation of God, so why not feel special!! As a youth we lack the real happiness and courage and seek it from materials or worldly pleasures, but after indulging self into many things and after much of a hardwork we realize that still we are unhappy and unsatisfied. And so again we dampen our spirits. Daniele Boido, the author of the ‘Human being of the Future’ suggests some simple steps for us youth to lead a happy lifestyle:

  •      Understanding Spirituality
  •      Learn to Forgive
  •      Take care of your Body
  •      Release negative Emotion
  •      Share unconditional Love
  •      Find you inner Boss
  •      Learn from Others
  •      Find a quiet place to Relax
  •      Create positive vibes by Focusing
  •      Try to connect with Nature

We must comprehend that no regular Whatsapp updates or pics with pouts can give us eternal happiness. Our identity, our personality and our happiness is much more beyond it. There is no harm in engaging self in the social world; actually it is the necessary to walk with the fast moving world. But, one should always take into consideration that walking with the world is a demand of the generation and that not to implicate self with the world. There is something within us above all and it ‘ME’. What matters today is not the difference between those who believe and those who don’t, but the difference is between those who care and who don’t.

The major problem with us youth is that feel no one cares for us and we engage ourselves in social connections where we feel hundreds of people showing care. Mostly we have the tendency to list things that others have not done for us. We surely expect from others to fulfil our needs but it is not possible for them to fulfil eachand every need of ours. Once at least we should count the blessings and name them one by one and it will be a surprise looking at what all people have done for us. And these are not the people in our social cites, but the people whom we thought don’t care for us. We should be grateful and thankful for all that has been for us so far and will be done in the near future. Thus, we should develop an attitude of gratitude. “Tongue is the cause of war” says Prophet Mohammad. So we should use our tongue to use good and thanksgiving words.

We all have the potential and will always have it. All of it is lurking inside each one of us. But is basically our thinking which will enable us to develop our personality and accentuate that our personality is definitely much much more than any of our FB or Whatsapp status and DP…

Let’s get out from our shells and give the best of ourselves to the world as it is truly said-

“For it is giving that we receive”…..
